I read all of urs comments, also yes it true ADA laws require all drs or hospitals or courts or all companies requires to get an interpreter everywhere which deafs needs services! I been thru this before when I was in hospital for three weeks there no interpreter it very dangerous but sadly until last minute on my nearby discharged they provided interpreter at last only short time until my day has discharged. That where I am currently living in West Virigina, Some of drs or cousenlor office refusing provide or services for deafs it sucks, sometimes but I went different dr and cousenling that where provided interpreter at last. I did send the ADA law booklets to those who refused service for the deafs. Let them working with them and wish them the best. Now, I am doing well and attend same dr since they accpeted and provided interpreter. As well, you keep fighting if they still refuse you can get lawyer and working on case because they gave you wrong medinice it very dangerous to you. Good luck! Don’t Give Up!

I really feel bad for any person who is denied the use of a sign language interpreter,, In Holland, they have interpreters fro TURKISH, MOROCCAN, GERMAN, FRENCH, SWISS ETC BUT there are only 3 ASL interpreters in the whole country and of course if I needed one I would be shit out of luck ..
My National Health insurance pays for interpreters,, I am allowed only 4 hours of free interpreting a year with my insurance, any thing over we gotta pay out of our pockets,,
This is really pathetic cos America is supposed to be the RICHEST country in the world and they are also the greediest,
How dare a doctor just prescribe the man medication with out telling him what it was for and the side affects IF HE DIDN’t,,
The sugestions that this gentleman go see another doctor is a good suggestion; I presume the clinic was free,, so that also may be why they do not have the money to pay for an interpreter, and the staff there are probably BI-LINGUAL ..so they do not need to hire a Spanish interpreter

Jack good for u,, I am glad u went and saw and got proof of that clinic’s wrong doings….and that was a smart move taking the paper they wrote on,, too bad u couldnt get the person to sign their name there,, that would be further proof that those folks are indeed denying a deaf person access.

I wish the deafperson contiuning better health, and finding a new doctor and that he is able to get an interpreter the next time

Oh… Pity on him! Watched vlog and noticed that he went to wrong place,
“Clinica Latina” that place seem not real outpatient clinic… could be praticed by volunteers that will not charge for service… If so, they can not afford to offer interpreter service unless deaf guy bring his own interpreter or hire interpreter himself… So that deaf guy better go to emergency hospital instead of seeking wrong place as volunteering clinic where students learn to be future doctor… I could be wrong from his story because he did not say if he use his insurance or government medical card
all of us deafies should not expect interpreter service all the time unless we pay for interpreter service that some place do not able to afford to pay expensive cost of interpreting service…

With all these Suggestions to Contact Human Civil Rights and such..it is imperative to stand together in this community and rally together. There is power in numbers. Not just one person contact Human Civil Rights, or the local governments and such…but everyone who comes across this VLOG or has an encounter of similar circumstance. Rally Together and MAKE A Difference!!!

What! no interpreter in doctor office. can sue.

Why not use laptop with webcam with modem to connect to Verizon…..can use Viable.Net to use interpreter to Doctor. Just FREE….

Suggest you to talk with your attorney to ask the questions included a human civil rights, ADA to see if you have a strong case PLUS have your attorney to check out with that clinic won’t provide you an interpeter and check out with Clinic’s history past, account, etc. BEFORE you sue them. Do not make a big mistake, be wise. Also be careful. Good luck to you! Bless you all. Smile.

I recommoned you two ASL interpreter agencies often take to wait in 2-3 weeks .. I know most of small clinic as forgien clinic are not familiar and broke the law of ADA.

I agree with you to prevent to not hire interpreter from your family or forgien language .

It is bad idea. I read the nad and NAD say Please dont hire member family. I know too hard . Too bad for Clinic and Hosptial must hire certificate from ASL agencies instead of forgien language interpreter.
