Way to go! I hope there will be thousands and thousands of deaf and hearing protesters there! I did not learn sign language till I was teenager and after graduating from high school years ago I was tested as a fourth grader a few months ago. How embarrassing!!
It is stupid and I do not support that the deaf babies to get the cochear impaired. The cochear impaired can cause the babies to get dizzy and losing hearing and The cochear impaired is stealing the money from the parents of the deaf children. My good friend cannot hear because of the cochear impaired. Some deaf people died from the cochear impaired. I support the deaf people being protesters. I wish I could stay in Milwaukee and could be protester. Someday the parents of deaf babies will be very sorry.

Thumb up!!!!! I disagree that deaf babies & toddlers be forced to have the cochear impaired. REAL SILLY. I would not mind if the adults wish to get the IC after losing their hearing, NOT THE BABIES. NO WAY!!!! I read that 13 people died after the IC. That was so sad!!!! You, the hearing parents of deaf babies BETTER WATCH OUT, please.

When i went to school for the deaf. The teacher are a digilent and hard working to teaching me hearing speech and pronunciation. I love sign laungauge with deaf people and i love to speak with hearing people. I can use both of us that. I recommend that all teachers in school deaf need to teaching hard working for deaf students. Then all deafs can be smarter. When Hearing parents have deaf baby so they could to go class tonight learn ASL and save money than spend a lot of money for cochlear impaired. THAT IS TRUE!……….COCHLEAR IMPAIRED ARE DANGEROUS AND GET DEATH !!!!! i advice you the doctors !!! DEAFS PEOPLE ARE NATURAL WITH ASL AND ENJOY WITH GROUP DEAFS PEOPLE.
You are Awesome Jack..taking the message to the people…I totally agree no parents should be pressured into Cochlear implant surgery for thier baby. I do feel they should be given all the information available and be offered ASL classes as well. They are the ones who will bear the burden of making the decision for their deaf child.. I became deaf 6 yrs ago and am just learning asl today…since I spoke and read lips..I thought I would do “OK”…I want to be able to communicate with the deaf population and still be able to speak to hearing people while I sign..(maybe they will pick up a few words..smile) You rock Jack..I know there have been deaths from the CI surgery, but want to be fair in saying there is a high risk when ever doing head surgery on a baby or small child.. I want ASL taught at the preschool level so that the deaf child can be accepted and interact with their hearing friends…so many have suffered the teasing and bullying from the hearing children who are really innocent since they don’t understand what that deaf child is experiencing..information is the key.. and with the presidential race ongoing..have you seen a candidate stand with an interpreter next to them..WOW…would that get my attention..or maybe even recognize there is a huge voting base that would love to see a candidate speak out for the deaf and their rights to be who they are…
Peace to you Jack….I will spread the word and hope one day being bilingual means you speak english and ASL..not just English and spanish..
I hope the turnout in Milwaulkee is HUGE…we as a group need to speak out on the issues that affect us and our babies are the most important one I can think of….thank you Jack….smile
